Larry Osterman's WebLog : Why was the ability to specify an allocator during CoInitialize removed from the system?

Is IMallocSpy as useful as it appears? Somehow the visiblity of things that traditional memory debugging tools have missed this (as have I)?

Don Box included a reference implemenation at some point too - this would track CoTaskMemAlloc and SysAllocString.
