Come on in - the kool aide is fine

So after 15 years of Windows software development - I've decided to see how the other guys live. I'm now working in the Macintosh Software Engineering group here at AOL. Looks like we're serious (again) at making great Macintosh software.

The case for Macintosh as a programming platform is pretty strong. It seems that Apple has managed to do what Sun and Microsoft have failed (so far) to do. MacOS includes a very rich set of Class Libraries. --- It's where Microsoft wanted to take .NET (but the forgot to deploy it with Windows XP at release -- and heck, they pretty much forgot to give it a reasonable UI framework to go with it). It's where Sun wanted to take Java - but they didn't control an installed base either.

Enjoy the Kool Aide --- be sure to check in on me after the upcoming WWDC where I'll be digging in deeper.
